We’re excited to share that our work has been published in the peer-reviewed journal Healthcare under the title “Advancing Gender Equity in International Eyecare: A Roadmap in Creating the Women Leaders in Eye Health (WLEH) Initiative.” MDPI
This paper charts the origins, strategies, and outcomes of WLEH’s global approach to closing gender gaps in ophthalmology. It explores how virtual platforms, in-person gatherings, mentorship networks, and cross-organizational collaboration have enabled women eye health professionals from around the world to connect, engage, and lead.
We believe this publication is a significant milestone: it not only validates our approach but also presents WLEH as a replicable blueprint for advancing gender equity across health sectors. We are deeply grateful to all partners, contributors, and community members whose participation and support made this possible.
