This October 2025, Women Leaders in Eye Health proudly launched the inaugural Women’s Circles Facilitator Training, marking a new chapter in our mission to strengthen connection, mentorship, and leadership among women in the eye health sector.

The Women’s Circles Program is designed to create safe, supportive spaces where women across all cadres of eye health can connect, share experiences, and grow together.
Guided by trained facilitators, these circles foster open dialogue, peer learning, and collective resilience, helping women navigate challenges and build the confidence to lead in their communities and institutions.
Participants from across regions joined the first virtual training, which was led with warmth and expertise by Dr. Catherine Hansen (MD, MPH). The sessions equipped facilitators with practical tools for group facilitation, inclusive communication, and trauma-informed leadership, laying the groundwork for a truly global community of support.
As these new facilitators prepare to launch their own Circles, they are helping advance a movement where women in eye health can thrive together.
Because leadership grows stronger when it’s shared.
